The Polish LGBTI community and its fight against conservative sentiment

Imagine you’re in love. You’ve found your person and dream of starting a life with them. With perhaps a diamond ring, and a little version of them running around the house that you bought together. It’s a picture that’s often instilled in our minds when we’re just kids, and has since grown into the future many of us envision.

But there’s just one problem: that person is the same sex as you are, and you live in Poland. A conservative sentiment has long shaped Poland’s attitude towards homosexuality. One that has influenced how society views love and relationships. However, over the years, leadership has changed. Has the sentiment towards the LGBTI community changed with it?
